History of Window Tinting

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Where do you think the idea for Window Tinting originated? The old way of blocking the sun from windows used to be covering them with aluminum foil. Yes, it worked but the look was far from being the image most people wanted to project. Add the fact that you could not see out the windows and this just was not the ultimate solution for blocking the sun from your home.

Window Film has come a long way and the type you can purchase today is very attractive indeed. They are a solution not only for keeping the sun from ruining your furniture and floors but they look very nice on the inside and outside. Blinds may have done the trick several years ago but they are being replaced. Window Tinting can be purchased in a variety of designs and colors. The darker window tinting may be a choice if you are in an area of the country where the sun is very strong.

Would you put your beautiful leather couch out in the yard? Of course you would not. In that case you need Window Film. When the sun shines through your windows, it has the same effect as it would have if you placed your living room furniture on the front lawn. The rays from the sun are very strong and over time they will fade your furniture, drapes and floors - hardwood and carpet - to a dull multi-colored look. The sun will actually pull the color right out of your furniture and floors…

Window Film Privacy

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Another benefit for using Window Film:

How many times have you looked up to see a stranger standing at your front door looking right in the window at you and your home? Many doors today are using decorative windows and while they are very nice looking they do not provide privacy. When you look up and see a stranger standing at your door it can be a scary moment especially if it is late and you are home alone.

If you had window tint on your window, the view from the outside is obstructed. However, you will be able to see clearly from the inside. This can be a safety measure from your standpoint because often people who have bad intentions will check out the home they are thinking of robbing before actually doing so. It is best to keep your home private so that you can protect your home and family from harm.

With all the different types of Window Films there is sure to be a perfect film for your application, whether it is for privacy, cutting glare or reducing heat entering your home we have the  perfect film for your structure.

Window Film a Great Solution

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Attractive Window Film has replaced other solutions that people have come up with over the years for blocking public access to their home and keeping the heat and ray of the sun from their home. We have all seen the aluminum foil approach. While it may do the job, it is extremely unattractive. The use of heavy drapes is another solution that has been used but they also block the outside world from view leaving us feeling isolated in our homes. The use of the curtains either leaves us in the dark or we have to turn on every light in the house to see. Window blinds are used as another alternative but they need cleaned constantly and they do not block as much sunlight unless you use the darker colors. This puts us back to square one - being left in the dark abyss which we call home. Using privacy window film is a unique and awesome way to let in natural light, protect our privacy, furniture, carpets and curtains, and you will not feel left alone in the dark.

Window Tint and Skin Cancer

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Another advantage to using Window Film to keep your home protected from the dangerous rays of the sun is the chance of developing skin cancer even inside your home. Everyone knows we should stay out of direct sunlight when you are outside but believe it or not the sun entering your home can damage your skin.

Unless you use heavy drapes which are depressing because of the darkness heavy drapes cause, you can be exposing yourself to the UV rays that can be quite harmful to your skin.

Yes, even inside if your home is not well protected, you can suffer sun damage to your skin from UV rays. The solution is using a good quality Home Window Tinting Film that will reject 99% of the suns harmful UV rays.

And while you are enjoying the fact that you will not be getting the harmful rays of the sun you will be getting the natural light that everyone needs to keep from suffering from a case of the winter blues which are just around the corner, especially if you live up north like I do.

Spring won’t get here fast enough!
